Costa Rican Online Gambling Operators Suffer from Gambling911 WithdrawalWhat happens when online gambling operators are unable to access the Gambling911.com website for more than three days? They start feeling suicidal, depressed, and become prone to prolonged anxiety attacks.
Well, okay maybe we are exaggerating a bit, but many of these operators surprisingly admit to having Gambling911.com set as their home page.
"It's the first site we read in the morning," says one operator, who for obvious reasons did not want to be mentioned.
Mickey Richardson, CEO of
Bookmaker.com feared the worst when he could not access. "Are you blocking us from viewing the site?" he asked.
The folks from Sportsbook.com were equally troubled by the inability to access.
"We cannot get on," cried an anxious Mike Staley, spokesperson for Sportsbook.com, for whom we kidded that he missed Jon Kyl throwing in the towel and supporting the legalization of online gambling and that Barney Frank married Condi Rice, things you can only read on Gambling911.com.
In the end, it was all blamed on a routing problem in Costa Rica.
The Central American nation, which boasts more online gambling companies than any other country, makes up close to 5% of Gambling911.com overall readership.
By Friday, things had started to get back to normal once again and the folks in Costa Rica could now access.
Thursday was one of the worst days to have experienced a blackout, however, with tons of newsworthy industry stories appearing on the Gambling911.com website exclusively, perhaps none more important than
Internet Gambling Prohibition has Long Term Ramifications for World Wide Web which highlights the pending injunction against the UIGEA process.
Speaking of which, Gambling911.com can now reveal that the banking industry may be working hard behind the scenes to get this injunction through.
A source close to Gambling911 says that the banks are furious over what the official says is "an unfunded mandate by politicians that will cost us (the banking industry) billions of dollars".
