Hillary Clinton is now a much bigger favorite to win in Ohio on what is being billed as Super Tuesday 2. Sportsbook.com has Clinton pegged to win at 5/7 odds, which will likely be the final number before the online gambling website pulls its odds some time very early Tuesday morning (most likely just before voting commences). To better understand these odds, one would have to bet $70 to win $50 or $100 to win $70 on Hillary Clinton to win in the Ohio Primary. Assuming she wins, gamblers would also get their original bet returned. Barack Obama, on the other hand, stands to pay out $11 for every $10 bet or $110 for every $100 bet. Even more telling odds can be found at Bookmaker.com, which caters more heavily towards professional gamblers as opposed to Sportsbook.com, which is the leading gambling website taking recreational bettors. Bookmaker.com has Clinton with -310 odds to win the Ohio Primary. This equates to 1/3 odds and would require a whopping $310 to win $100. In laymens terms, the oddsmakers at Bookmaker have made Hillary a pretty decent size favorite to win the state. In Texas, Barack Obama is made the 1/2 favorite at Bookmaker.com to win. He's a smaller favorite here than Clinton is in Ohio. What's more interesting is that Clinton nearly pays out even odds in Texas as the small underdog. They have her listed at +150 for a payout of $150 for every $100 bet. At Sportsbook.com she would pay nearly $225 for every $100 bet. Online gambling websites are not offering betting odds on other Tuesday primary states such as Rhode Island and Vermont. Both Sportsbook.com and Bookmaker.com have been measuring the amount of bets coming in from customers residing in both states as one measure to determine how much the line should move in either direction. It goes without saying that Bookmaker has a large number of Ohio gamblers betting on Hillary Clinton. Political prediction markets have historically proven to be quite accurate. --- Christopher Costigan, Gambling911.com Publisher CCostigan@CostiganMedia.com Originally published March 3, 2008 11:46 pm EST Find More News from Gambling911.com Here ----
