Will the FanDuel Sports Betting App Be Available to Those in Oregon?

No!

The Oregon Lottery oversees the limited sports wagering that was permitted prior to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning decades of prohibition.  Oregon was one of four states, including Nevada, permitted to offer the activity.  Oregon opted to allow a limited option that never grew in popularity and ultimately got dissolved.  More importantly, the NCAA refused to hold its championship events in the state as long as they offered their parlay betting game.

While the Lottery has the authority to offer sports betting, they were unable to do so without legislative approval.   They eventually did receive such authority, but with significant disadvantages.

The Score is Oregon's online/mobile sports betting site.  It does not permit wagering on any college sports (and we are not just talking the Oregon schools).  AmericasBookie does not have any such restrictions.

Current tribal compacts will likely also stand in the way in the foreseeable future.

Spirit Mountain does offer a land-based sportsbook with college sports betting offered.  They do not permit mobile wagering outside their property.  Their on-property mobile site is powered by BetMGM.

In August 2021 it was determined that DraftKings would take over the lone sports betting platform in Oregon.  DraftKings acquired SBTech, which powered Oregon's ScoreBoard betting site.

Disadvantages to Using the FanDuel Sports Betting App

Even as a Oregon resident, you can still place real money bets on the FanDuel app, but only when visiting the state of New Jersey.  This is the only state that currently offers the app for real money betting.

The Fanduel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August.  It is only available in this state currently. Folks who wish to open a betting account may do so from outside the state but will be unable to bet until they are within New Jersey's borders, this includes Newark International Airport.  Up until recently only internationally-licensed online sportsbook were accessible in the Garden State and still offer anonymous alternative to the NJ-based wagering firms

Another disadvantage is the limited device compatibility.  The Fanduel sports betting app is for Android and IOS.

While those 18 or older can play with offshore sportsbooks, FanDuel and its New Jersey-based counterparts require users to be at least 21 in order to place a bet.
