Buffalo Bills Beating The New England Patriots Would Pay $850

It could happen.  We don't think it will.  But if the Buffalo Bills somehow manage to beat the New England Patriots, it would be than just a feather in the Bills hat.  Bettors will walk off with $850 and up.  How is that?

Bookmaker.com is offering a +850 money line.  What this means is that you can bet $100 to win $850 on the Bills to win straight up.

Can it happen?

One of the Patriots' wins this season was a 38-7 home blowout of Buffalo on Sept. 23. The Bills, though, are 5-1 since that game, and would have won six in a row if they hadn't allowed nine points in the final 20 seconds to Dallas in a 25-24 Monday night loss Oct. 8.

They rebounded from that to win four straight entering this week's game - their longest run in four years - and are coming off a 13-10 victory at winless Miami.

"The Bills are starting to look a lot like the Green Bay Packers," commented Dan Shapiro of Gambling911.com, referring to the Packers late season surge last year that has carried on in 2007.  "This needs to be considered a dangerous game for New England."

Gamblers do not share in this sentiment.  94% of the betting public was on New England (and the -16 point spread) compared to 6% on Buffalo.

So what's changed since the Bills were blown out earlier in the season by New England?

Brian G. of PatsPulpit.com was asked if the Bills defense can get the job done this time around:

"Some of the reserves that were pressed into action during that first Bills/Pats game (most notably CB Jabari Greer and LB John DiGiorgio) have gained a lot of experience in subsequent weeks, and their play has been very solid. They should be better prepared to face a New England offense that handled them easily in Week 3; time will tell whether that extra preparation will help."

The Bills would pay +10000 odds to win the AFC Championship.  That's a $10,000 win for every $100 bet at Bookmaker.com should it happen.  New England is the most bet on team to win the 2008 Super Bowl.
