Gambling911.com has opted to halt any further promotion of Saturday's Haskell Invitational in light of the heat wave that has engulfed much of the East Coast.  Despite temperatures that will feel like 110 at race time, officials have still opted to run the Haskell Invitational.

"It's disgusting.  This is akin to taking bets on a death pool," remarked Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.

Gambling911 relies heavily on the promotion of the Haskell Invitational, potentially driving hundreds of new signups to online race books.

Over the past 24 hours, individuals have called upon Monmouth Park and others to halt the marquee race and others on Saturday's card.  Some have even suggested that trainers pull their horses while others called upon folks to contact NBC, the network airing today's Haskell Invitational.

All other races scheduled in Eastern states this weekend, including those at Saratoga, have been cancelled.

The outcry Saturday morning is potent.

By 11:40 am ET, 734 people had signed a petition to stop Saturday's race.
