Kidney Reality Show Planned by Big Brother 8 Producers

Edemol, the Dutch owned production company for Big Brother UK, will be offering up the ultimate reality show where the prize featured will be....a kidney? That's right folks....a kidney reality show.

This is Sparky Collins with your daily dose of Big Brother 8 entertainment news, only this little ditty may not be much in the way of entertainment. It involves Big Brother 8's production company.

The Dutch government will allow the broadcast of a television show that offers three dialysis patients a chance to win a kidney.

The show is titled "Big Donor" whereby a 37-year-old terminally ill woman will select one patient out of three to receive one of her kidneys. Viewers can help her choose by sending text messages.

I spoke to our own donor-in-waiting, the super hot Gambling911.com reporter Jenny Woo, about this latest revelation and her thoughts on a show where some poor dying woman selects potential donors.

"I thought we here at Gambling911.com were a little sick until I read about this. Oh we are perfectly normal. The scary thing about this - as a donor - I'm told that doctors are more apt to let donors die so that they can more readily collect their organs. In my case, my organs are either completely destroyed from all the drinking and smoking intake or my bad habits have helped to preserve them. I fear that this poor woman is going to be exploited by both producers and doctors alike. I do not like the concept one bit."

``The Dutch audience will be playing referee in what could be a matter of life and death,'' Joop Atsma, a legislator for the Christian Democratic Alliance, said in the meeting.

Broadcaster BNN, which will air the show on June 1, aims to draw attention to the need for donors, it said in a statement dated May 25. Endemol's Dutch unit will produce the show.

The woman will give away one kidney before her death and will donate all her organs after she passes away, BNN chairman Laurens Drillich said over the phone.

Jenny Woo, who recently visited the Netherlands, felt she saw it all while in Amsterdam.

"What will those dastardly Dutch folk come up with next?"

Endemol is based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende's Christian Democratic Alliance is the biggest party in parliament.
