Ernie Els and Jim Furyk Favorites in Nedbank Golf Challenge

SOUTH African Ernie Els will start equal +400 favorite on Canbet when he makes his record 15 th appearance in the 2006 Nedbank Golf Challenge (NGC) starting at Sun City on Thursday.

Els shares Canbet favoritism with last year’s winner, American Jim Furyk.

The much-heralded local will be joined by three other fellow countrymen in the 26 th edition of the NGC, Retief Goosen (+450) and NGC debutants Trevor Immelman and Charl Schwartzel.

Goosen will be seeking to avenge last year when he was part of a thrilling record four-man playoff that went the way of Furyk after a dramatic chip-in at the 18 th.

One of the hottest golf events just got hotter and we're not talking about anything that happens on the course.  Tiger Woods wife, Elin Nordegren,  has filed a libel lawsuit against an Irish magazine over a satirical article that included fake nude photos of her and claimed she appeared on porn Internet sites.

A Dublin, Ireland, law firm acting for Elin Nordegren filed the lawsuit in the Irish High Court on Nov. 16, the court’s principal registrar, Ciaran Kelly, confirmed Friday.
