BetonSports, David Carruthers hearings scheduled for today

Ousted BetonSports CEO, David Carruthers, is scheduled to appear today in a St Louis, Missouri court house in an attempt to get bail. He was detained in Texas two weeks ago charged with conspiracy and racketeering.  11 others from the company and those associated with the company, including its founder, Gary Kaplan, were also indicted.  Kaplan remains a fugitive of the law, his whereabouts unknown.

BetonSports confirmed they will be paying all of Carruthers legal fees, which are likely to run into the millions.

Mr. Carruthers has been deemed a "flight risk" by US authorities overseeing the case.  As such they have denied him bail.

Today's hearing may also determine whether the disgraced betting firm goes back online again and whether it will take bets from US citizens.

BetonSports claims to be losing an estimated $4 million dollars a day.

St. Louis is where all federal online gambling and tax evasion cases are handled.

The Associated Press said that attorneys at the Justice Department headquarters have been involved from the outset in the investigation by the US Attorney's office in St. Louis of BetOnSports PLC.
