Gambling Site Weathers Storm....Literally
A freak storm Friday knocked out power to online gambling company
BetOnline.com, the online betting firm based out of Panama City, Panama. The storm also blew out two windows according to sources on the ground. An employee named Stanley also cut his pinky finger on some shard glass, the little baby.
"Employees were ordered under their desks," a representative told Gambling911.com Monday.
BetOnline.com (formerly BestLine Sports) has been the benefactor of significant online sports betting business in recent months thanks to PinnacleSports North American closure and BetOnline.com's ability to process credit cards.
As such, panicked customers began to express concerns over the site being down this past Friday.
BetOnline.com sent this message out to its clients Monday:
As many of you know, BetOnline.com suffered problems this past Friday the 27th of April that hindered our ability to operate. As a service to all clients, the following is a special report of what happened.
At around 10:15PM (ET) our base of operations in Panama City, Panama suffered a power outage as a result of difficult weather conditions. The resulting weather caused a halt in operations of our headquarters.
The problem was significant, but within a couple of hours (around 1:30AM ET specifically) all of our systems were operational once more. During that time we were unable to take wagers online or over the phone.
The staff at BetOnline.com would like to extend an apology to you for any inconveniences our mishap might have caused. Rest assured that since then we have taken all necessary measures so that this problem does not happen again. We encourage all of our clients to call us or log on to BetOnline.com and place your wagers with confidence, always making client satisfaction our top priority.
BetOnline.com representatives will be in full force at this week's highly anticipated Casino Affiliate Convention in Amsterdam, which will be covered extensively by Gambling911.com throughout the weekend.
