BCS Selections (2007/2008)

The big day is finally here in this most unpredictable College Football season.  The BCS selections were being made Sunday evening.  Who will play in which Bowl games including the BCS title game?  And what BCS selections would come as big surprises (mirroring this season)?

Some of the teams vying for a spot in the Bowl games were listed with huge payout odds early in the season to win their various conferences.  Ohio State was listed with unprecedented 30/1 odds to win the 2008 BCS Championship.

"Projecting the BCS matchups is as difficult as ever, thanks in large part to the uncertainty over which teams will be playing in the championship game," commented Brad Edwards of ESPN.com.

Most experts agreed that Ohio State was already in the title game, but who they would play remained a big mystery until Sunday night.  LSU was the likely choice.  That game would be played January 7, 2008.  LSU was announced as the team that would be playing Ohio State.

All Gambling911.com endorsed online sportsbooks were preparing to be offering betting lines on the BCS title game and 2007/2008 College Bowl games over the next few days.  Many of these sportsbooks were offering top free cash and/or free play bonuses when opening an online betting account.  Various proposition bets will also be offered.

New Year's Day - Sugar Bowl - Hawaii, which has the only undefeated season will be playing in this one.  Colt Brennan said "This will be the greatest game in our school's history".   Georgia will be playing in this one.

Fiesta Bowl - Oklahoma face Big East champ West Virginia.

Rose Bowl - USC will play for a record 37th time.   They will play Illinois.

Orange Bowl - Virginia Tech will face 11-1 Kansas, going to Miami for the first time in nearly four decades.

Missouri is out.  The team they beat, Kansas, is in.  So there will be some controversy here for sure.
