Amy Acuff: Olympian Babe

She's a high jumper by trade and a Playboy model on the side.  Amy Acuff has it all: Beauty, athleticism and hopefully by the end of the 2008 Olympics, a gold medal.

Last month, Amy Acuff cleared 6'3½" at the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships in Boston to claim another gold medal as she works toward what will be her fourth Olympics this summer in Beijing. The former UCLA standout has been among the best high jumpers in the nation for the last 15 years, and though she has never medaled in a World Championship or Olympic games, her longevity (and her looks) have raised the awareness of her sport.

Her Playboy appearance was part of the “The Women of the Olympics” spotlights, and yes that's her on the cover (left).

Acuff competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics as a member of USA Track and Field and is a three-time Olympian. Her personal best is 2.01 m, which she achieved in Zürich on 2003-08-15.
