Michael Johns Odds to Win American Idol Offer Top Value
Australian favorite to win American Idol offered what was probably the best performance of the week. Michael Johns was widely praised for his "It's all Wrong But It's All Right". With a payout potential of $7 for every $1 bet, Johns has the best value of the bunch right now. This is actually two strong weeks going for Idol's oldest contestant this season. He blew us away last week with Queen's "We are The Champions". Back him in his native Australia, the newspapers were raining praise upon their native son who now makes the US his home. From The Australian: Michael Johns' emotional rendition of the country legend's tune It's All Wrong, But It's All Right was a hit with judges, casting the home-grown singer to the top of the pile. Idol oddsmakers still were listing odds heading into Wednesday night's show. Odds courtesy of Sportsbook.com

American Idol Star David Cook Hospitalized
One of the favorites to win American Idol - David Cook - has been hospitalized for "heart palpitations" according to a People Magazine report.
This occurred
immediately
following his
Tuesday evening
performance.
Gambling911.com declared Cook the potential American Idol winner weeks ago when he was listed with long 60 to 1 odds. The rocker has blown away viewers with his modern arrangements of songs such as Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and Lionel Richie's "Hello".
![]() According to the American Idol prediction website DialIdol Ramiele Malubay is most likely to be voted off. Malubay is yet to appear among the bottom three but the prediction site has her getting the fewest number of votes by a mile. Jason Castro and Kristy Lee Cook were also expected to be among the bottom three. Coming in on top: David Archuleta, Michael Johns and David Cook (in that order) and America got this one right if that is how they truly voted. Cook was as good as always while Michael Johns was his best yet. David Archuleta had the best vocal of the night.

American Idol Performance Show - April 1, 2008
This week's American Idol performance show was all about Dolly Parton American Idol Betting Odds (April 1, 2008)
![]() No April Fool's Day joke here as young David Archuleta remained the even favorite heading into this week's American Idol performance show. David Cook, who is making quite an impact on the show of late, came in with 8 to 5 odds, paying $8 for every $5 bet at Sportsbook.com The American Idol theme for this week - It's Dolly Parton Week and guess what - country bumpkin Kristy Lee Cook, who had been among the bottom barrel of contestants, probably has the best edge here. She managed to stay out of the bottom three for the first time with "the smartest song choice ever" - "Proud to be an American". And - yeah - she sang it well.
Brooke White 7 - 1
David Cook Still Pays Well to Win American Idol (Betting Odds)
![]() At 7 to 4 odds, American Idol contestant David Cook would pay out $7 for every $4 bet, quite possibly a steal and maybe even the ultimate economic stimulus package during these hard times. Sportsbook.com was offering the 7 to 4 odds heading into Tuesday night's performance show. Cook, who Gambling911.com had predicted early on of winning when he had double digit odds, has received a ringing endorsement this week from none other than last year's Idol winner, Jordin Sparks. "I hate to choose because they are all good and I don't want to discourage any of them, but based on what happened last week I think David Cook has a good chance of being the last one standing," said Sparks, while on a break from walking the orange carpet of Nickelodeon's annual awards fete. "He sang the heck out of 'Billie Jean.' Despite the fact that Cook has come under some fire for allegedly covering "covers", he's really doing no different than what every Idol is doing covering the original song. During most weeks, Cook has given credit to the person covering. Odds were courtesy of Sportsbook.com.
American Idol Results: Who Got Voted Off - March 26, 2008
The American Idol results were coming in the next hour. This is Carrie Stroup for Gambling911.com reporting on who got voted off American Idol. American Idol Performance Night: The Year They Were Born
American
Idol Performance
Night: The Year They
Were BornIt's American Idol performance night and I'm Carrie Stroup reporting to you live for Gambling911.com. The night's theme was "The Year They Were Born". Each of the remaining Idols were to perform songs that came out the year of their birth. 1987 Ramiele Malubay at 25 - 1 odds of becoming the next American Idol opened with Heart's "Alone", one of my favorites, and one of our own here in beautiful Miami Beach. Ramiele's got a bit of a fan base that has kept her out of the bottom three. Personally, while the judges didn't like it, I felt it was pretty good, especially considering she was sick. Simon actually didn't think it was as bad as Randy thought and he predicted she will get through to next week. The audience also seemed to like it. Jason Castro performed Sting with his guitar "How Fragile We Are". Everyone loves Sting. The judges thought it was "all right". Not sure about that "jump out vocal performance," Randy said. Paula loves Sting and so do I. Simon Cowell compared it to someone bustling out in a subway station and he proceeded to bash the heck out of him, suggesting he is "not taking this seriously". My girl Syesha Mercado with 25 - 1 was born in 1987 and she performed "If I Were Your Woman". Also from Miami Beach, Syesha brought it tonight in my opinion. "This is the best I have ever heard you sing, including when you auditioned," Randy said. Paula said "This is the moment everyone will remember that Syesha flips it and became the dark horse". Simon said it was the best so far even though he didn't like the ending. Good job Girl! Chikezie at 35 - 1 odds was up next. Randy didn't love it. He felt it was "very old school and boring". Paula disagreed. "It's a good throwback," she said. "I think you did a great job." Simon thought he sang it well but felt the performance was "very cheesy". Poor Brooke White got off to a bad start, flubbing the first note. Anybody else think Brooke's mom is hot? Another Sting hit "Every Breath You Take". Randy said it was "just okay". Paula loved it so much more than last week's. Simon agreed with Randy that she should have not allowed the band to come in. "Definitely good enough to keep you in another week". Even with the mistake they liked her professionalism. Go Michael Johns. Singing Queen "We Are The Champions". "Finally, you used that big old voice," said Randy. "Best performance you have been on this show." That was a hot performance. The audience loved it. Simon said "This is the first time for you I saw star potential". Simon felt it was the only memorable performance of the night. You can download it at iTunes! I did not care for Carly Smithson's "Total Eclipse of the Heart". It seemed rushed. Randy did not like it. Paula did. Simon agreed with Randy: "Something did not quite work there". Simon said that David Archuleta's performance reminded him of a "theme park performance with all types of ghastly creatures floating around". I somehow agree. Kristy Lee Cook gets smart tonight. "God Bless the USA". Who wouldn't vote for that one. Simon said it "was the best performance by a mile and the most clever song choice in years". He also predicted this will keep her in the competition. David Cook "the most original" stated Randy Jackson. He predicted he will win the whole thing. Amazing performance according to Simon. You can download it on iTunes and be sure to bet on David here.
American Idol: Betting Odds Now Have David Archuleta at Even Money
A bet on David Archuleta now could ultimately pay even money should the young singer win this season's American Idol. Archuleta was instilled as the favorite from the get go but after a bumbling Beetles performance two weeks ago, he is yet to become a "runaway favorite". There is still plenty of value to be had. Rocker David Cook is one of the more fresher performers on the show, harping back to the days of Chris Daughtry. Cook had odds of 3 to 1. Carly Smithson continues to maintain short odds despite being voted among the bottom three last week. Other favorites to win included Brooke White with the promise to pay out $7 for every $2 bet; Michael Johns with 8 to 1 odds and Jason Castro at 12 to 1 odds.
Brooke White 7 - 2
American Idol Results: Who Got Voted Off (March 19, 2008)
Amanda Overmyer Could be Voted Off American Idol Tonight
![]() Say it isn't so...one of our personal favorites, Amanda Overmyser, stands a significant chance of being voted off American Idol Wednesday night. DialIdol predictions have Overmyer and Kristy Lee Cook in a practical dead tie for least number of votes this week. The predictions site measures the number of busy signals for each Idol and has been relatively accurate in past seasons. Overmyer falls within a margin of error that includes of Idols such as Chikezie Eze and Ramiele Malubay. "Overmyer's musical style may not necessarily appeal to the typical American Idol viewer," explains Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com. Her music is characterized as Southern Blues. Overmyer is regularly compared to Janis Joplin. While Miami's own Syesha Mercado appeared safe, the only real "lock" to stay on beyond this week was young David Archuleta, who once again performed brilliantly.
After being demoted by oddsmakers this past week, young David Archuleta will probably be made the better than even odds favorite to win this season's American Idol yet again. By "better than even" we mean the payout won't be as great. You'll probably have to risk more to win less in other words. Don't be surprised by 1/2 odds where a $2 bet wins you $1 (and you win the initial $2 back if he ends up winning). This week Archuleta came in as a 13/8 favorite, paying just better than even odds. An $8 bet would have paid $13. Odds were available at Bodog David Archuleta performed "The Long and Winding Road", making up for last week's blunders. He was the best performance of the first hour by far.
Archuleta lives in
Murray, Utah and is

American Idol: Performance Show on March 18, 2008
![]() With 11 Idols vying to become the next American Idol, we were treated two yet another two hour performance show and plenty of excitement as this could truly be the best American Idol ever. This is Carrie Stroup reporting live for Gambling911.com and let's take a look at who we thought were the best bets coming into Tuesday night's performance show. David Cook 4/1 - The payout here at Sportsbook.com and that's $4 for every $1 bet. Great value. David Archuleta is still the favorite to win but at just slightly worse than even odds, the value is still there but the payout is not as great as what we would have with David Cook. Carly Smithson - 7/2 she's a solid value and there are plenty of Irish Americans out there. Brooke White is becoming a favorite with 4/1 odds.
American Idol betting odds heading into the March 18, 2008 performance show have young David Archuleta a 13/8 favorite to win the show. His meltdown and forgetting words to a Beetles song last week prevented his odds from getting too out of reach this week. An Archuleta bet at press time placing the maximum $50 wager would pay around $30 (plus your initial bet if he were to win). True value plays include the "other" David - David Cook, who with 4 to 1 odds would pay out $4 for every $1 bet. Judge Simon Cowell even suggested David Cook could win this year's American Idol. Brook White had 4/1 odds. Carly Smithson, another popular Idol, had odds of 7/2 for a payout potential of $7 with every $2 bet.

David Archuleta Still Favored to Win American Idol: David Cook's Fan Base Grows
Such odds would provide some of the best betting value this week of any wagering event, Gambling911.com believes. "The payout would be $8 to $10 for every $1 bet," explains Payton O'Brien, Gambling911 Senior Editor. Gambling911.com last week predicted David Cook could win American Idol. After this week's performance brilliant performance of the Beetles classic "Eleanor Rigby", Cook has become one of the most inquired about Idols. We may have had our first shocking elimination of the week, even though the performance itself was rather cheesy (to say the least). Gay stripper boy, David Hernandez, was voted off. We first reported about David's stripper past a few weeks back, long before the mainstream press began jumping all over the story. Some have speculated that his past may have resulted in last night's elimination. We say he failed to connect with the audience. And it didn't help that he claimed to have worked at a "pizza bistro" just prior to coming on American Idol in the film proceeding his performance when it has come out he was stripping right up until the AI auditions.
American Idol Results Show: Who Got Voted Off?
The American Idol Results Show featured the final 12, which would be down to 11 next week. This week's voting brought in just over 29 million calls, according to host Ryan Seacrest. Heading into Wednesday night's American Idol Results Show, it appeared as if the candidates to be voted off included Kristy Lee Cook, Ramiele Malubay and quite possibly Miami's own Syesha Mercado. Who Will be Voted Off American Idol? (March 12)
DialIdol.com was also showing Miami's own Syesha Mercado in danger. While David Archuleta proved to be human during Tuesday night's American Idol Performance Show, he is still likely to move on and remained the favorite to win American Idol Season 7. The payout was more appealing: $6 for every $5 bet at Sportsbook.com. The best Idols last night - and there were a bunch of them - included huge underdog Chikezie (previously listed with 100 to 1 odds of winning American Idol) now offering a $40 payout for every $1 bet. Brooke White was sensational on the piano. She had 5 to 1 odds of winning American Idol. David Cook, with 13-2 odds, rocked out with what may have been the best performance of the night. Carly Smithson was another top performance and was listed with 3-1 odds of winning American Idol.
David Cook Continues to be Great Bet to Win American Idol Season 7
![]() We said it last week after David Cook performed a fantastic rocking version of Lionel Richie's "Hello" - David Cook could win American Idol Season 7. Last week Cook was listed with 50 to 1 odds of winning. A $1 bet heading into last week's performance show would pay $50 if he pulls off the victory. This week, his odds were slashed to 10/1 but that is still a $10 payout for every $1 bet. Following his Tuesday night performance of "Eleanor Rigby" during Paul McCartney/John Lennon Night, Judge Simon Cowell called it "brilliant" and predicted "if this were a talent contest and not a popularity contest, you could win this thing". "Eleanor Rigby" is a song by The Beatles, originally released on the 1966 album Revolver. The song was primarily written by Paul McCartney, although John Lennon claimed that "the first verse was his and the rest are basically mine." Pete Shotton, a close friend of Lennon who was present at the time, said "Though John (whose memory could be extremely erratic) was to take credit, in one of his last interviews, for most of the lyrics, my own recollection is that 'Eleanor Rigby' was one 'Lennon-McCartney' classic in which John's contribution was virtually nil." McCartney also says that Lennon helped on about "half a line." It remains one of The Beatles' most recognizable and unique songs, with a double string quartet arrangement by George Martin, and striking lyrics about loneliness. The song continued the transformation of the group, started in Rubber Soul, from a mainly pop-oriented act to a more serious and experimental studio band. Cook's arrangement with its superb modern day hard rockin' beat that reminded us a lot of Chris Daughtry, but maybe better. Expect his odds to be cut dramatically after this week, though he'll probably still have value.
American Idol Top 12 Performance Show: Chikezie "She's a Woman" Red Hot
![]() We were out of breath watching Chikezie appear second among the American Idol Top 12. Hot performance indeed and who would have thunk it. Chikezie performed a wild version of "She's a Woman", a song penned by Paul McCartney. All the songs performed during Tuesday night's two hour introduction to the American Idol top 12 were songs written by either Paul McCartney or John Lennon. "She's a Woman" was originally McCartney's attempt to emulate Little Richard. Some takes of the song (especially recordings of live concerts) feature an extended outro. Chikezie started with a sit down banjo arrangement, which was the most subdued portion of the performance. Chikezie's was outstanding and one of the best performances of the season thus far. Greater still is that he's a shoe-in to move onto next week's round of American Idol. Get this - Chikezie would pay out $100 for every $1 if he were to win American Idol
American Idol: Latest Odds to Win
Amanda Overmyer, who performed brilliantly last week would pay out $100 for every $1 bet. David Cook also performed well last week, paying $10 for every $1 bet. Australian Michael Johns would pay $7 for every $1 bet. Gay stripper David Hernandez would pay $20 for every $1 bet.
Amanda Overmyer 100
