American Idol
Predictions: Who
Will be in the Final
Five?
This
week's American Idol
predictions may be
among the easiest of
the season thus far.
Brooke White goes
home, at least
that's what we here
at Gambling911.com
believe.
Brooke admittedly
forgot the lyrics
during Andrew Lloyd
Webber night and had
to start over again.
As Judge Simon
Cowell pointed out,
she never quite
recovered and nerves
got the best of her
with the rest of the
performance.
In a nutshell, she
struggled.
The
girl with the
longest odds to win
American Idol -
Syesha Mercado - on
the other hand will
sail through to the
next round
with
one of the best
performances of the
season.
Syesha sang "One
Rock 'n' Roll Too
Many" from Starlight
Express. It
was the opening of
the show and kicked
things off
brilliantly.
Mercado, along with
David Cook (who
closed this week's
American Idol
performance show)
offered up two of
the best
performances.
Cook
mesmerized with a
show stopping
performance of "The
Music of the Night"
from "The Phantom of
the Opera", in which
he displayed some
yet seen classical
skills, including
bits of opera.
Granted he's no
Luciano Pavarotti.
His musical range is
perhaps the best we
have ever seen on
American Idol.
As the new favorite
this week heading
into Tuesday night's
show,
Cook will likely be
given even shorter
odds to win this
season.
Carly
Smithson's
performance of
"Jesus Christ
Superstar" was good
but religious themed
songs have not
always weathered the
American Idol voting
storm (remember
Mandisa in Season
5).
Take
away the Brooke
White factor, Jason
Castro was simply
out of his element.
He does seem to have
a stronger fan
presence than Carly
however.
And
then there is David
Archuleta who was
strong enough to
secure a position in
the top 5, but as
Simon Cowell pointed
out - It wasn't his
best.
