American Idol: Ladies Night Focus on Antonella Barba

It's Ladies Night on American Idol and I am Carrie Stroup reporting for Gambling911.com.

Last night we witnessed much improved performances from the men including Sundance Head, who pretty much wowed the judges and is believed to have received the most number of votes.

Photos of American Idol wannabe Antonella Barba engaging in shocking sexual acts and underage drinking have appeared all over the Internet over recent days.  She is yet to be booted from the show and there are no hints that Barba will be either.

Gina was up first.  She is not necessarily a standout.  Gina performed one of my favorites, Heart's "Alone" and I thought she was really good with a great audience response.  Randy felt she was pitchy in spots but hit the high notes.  Paula really loved it.  "Excellent job" she said.  Simon said he was "confused as to who you are" but felt it was a good song choice.

Alaina came on next.  Randy, Paula both felt it was "a little bit off".  Simon felt she ran out of steam three quarters of the way.  She started off fine and lost it in the middle part of the song.  Alaina is definitely in danger of getting elimination, just barely making it to this week.

Red hot Lakisha was up next.  She's the 2 to 1 favorite to win the American Idol competition.

She performed "Midnight Train to Georgia".  She is FINE!!!  Simon found her outfit distracted even though he thinks she is a phenomenal singer.

Melissa Dolittle, the second favorite to win this competition was up next, with an impressive vocal.  "We got a competition going here.  Melinda Dolittle came out here to win it," said Randy.  "That was hot!"  I agree.  That was a fantastic performance.  "That was incredible!" said Simon.  "The best vocal throughout the competition".

Antonella Barba was up next looking really hot.  But the pitch was all over the place and judges agreed.  It was a Celine song and "way too big" but Paula said it was an improvement over last week.  Simon thought she was worse than last week.  I believe she'll move on to next week, supported by this week's controversy....assuming of course she doesn't get booted off the show.

Jordan Sparks was up next.  Some pitchy moments, according to Randy but she really performed well.  Compared to other people, Simon felt she was excellent.

Stephanie Edwards is definitely in it to win it.  Randy thought it was so much better than last week even though she was good last week. Simon really thought it was terrific too.

Leslie was a bit pitchy according to Randy though Paula loved it and Simon made fun of Paula loving it.  But Simon felt she is getting lost in the competition by three other powerful performances before her.

Haley appeared next.  She sang "Queen of the Night" and there were more background vocals than the lead, which I completely agreed with, and Randy pointed this out.

Sabrina Sloan, who I liked last week, is the true underdog here and finished things off.  She really lit it up tonight.  "You got a big old voice," said Randy.  Paula loved her.  Simon felt it was good and said she will be back next week.

We are coming to you live with continued coverage throughout the show.
