American Idol Finale: How'd They Do?

The American Idol finale featuring Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis kicked off Tuesday night with Blake Lewis performing Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name".  Judge Simon Cowell put it best, "Lewis is not the best singer in the competition but he is the best performer".

This is Carrie Stroup reporting for Gambling911.com and Blake Lewis was close to a +350 underdog of winning the American Idol competition, a payout of $3.50 for every $1.00 bet.  Sparks was a fairly big -400 favorite, which required a $4.00 to see a $1.00 profit.  Odds were courtesy of Sportsbook.com

Jordin came on with the voice but could she beat the entertainment, though Simon found the vocals a bit shrieky in the middle.  He gave round one to Blake.  Randy gave the entertainment performance to Blake and the singing performance to Jordin in this round.

Blake came into Round 2 doing Maroon 5 and really sounded great.  It was a nice vocal.  Simon didn't think it was as good as the first performance however.

Jordin stole round two with Martina McBride.  Randy Jackson called it "better than the original" and the vocals were "flawless".  Simon Cowell said "Now that was good!"

The final song performed by both Blake and Jordin was "This is My Now" - which was the winner of the American Idol song competition.  As Simon put it "Jordin, you wiped Blake off the floor with that song".  She was amazing and Simon predicted she would win it all.

The verdict is not in officially yet but it looks like Jordin Sparks is going to be the next American Idol.  Stay tuned for tomorrow's results show.

Thank you all for making this a wonderful American Idol betting season.
