American Idol Elimination Results and What's the Big Announcement?

American Idol elimination results Thursday night will determine the final 12.  Plus, what is the big announcement American Idol would be making Thursday night?

This is Carrie Stroup reporting for the world's leading source for American Idol betting news and trends, Gambling911.com, and I will be reporting live throughout the hour with all the latest American Idol eliminations.

Of the men, it appeared that none were safe in regard to be eliminated though some were more safe than others.  Chris Sligh, Chris Richardson and Blake Lewis appeared to be in "safe" territory.  The reported biggest vote-getter the two previous weeks, Sundance Head, must have really rubbed America wrong with his Pearl Jam cover of "Jeremy" as he seemed to be among the lowest vote-getters according to DialIdol.com, a website that monitors voting busy signals for each contestant. 

Head is coupled with a few other men, however, so he was no "sure thing" to be eliminated Thursday night.  Phil Stacey and Jared Cotter also reportedly got few votes.

Of the ladies, Sabrina Sloan and Haley Scarnato were in trouble according to preliminary reports with Stephanie Edwards another close call.

Also widely anticipated was that big announcement from American Idol, which we will post here as soon as it is known.

Jared Cotter was the first elimination

Antonella Barba was the second elimination - shocking considering how popular she has been in terms of search traffic.

Sabrina Sloan was the third elimination.  Haley Scarnato made it in, which was a pretty big shock. 

The announcement was that American Idol would be engaging in a major initiative to give back to those suffering in poverty throughout the world including Africa and America.  April 24 and 25 will feature two unprecedented events.  Viewers will vote as usual but for every vote cast, money will be donated to the charity as will Ford Motor Company. 

Quincy Jones is writing a special song.  Borat will be present and Randy Jackson will wrestle him nude.  Bono, Gwenn Stephanie, Pink and more will be appearing. 

The final elimination was Sundance Head, who was a favorite the last few weeks.  Simon when asked what had happened suggested "the volume was turned down?"
