American Idol Elimination Results April 18

American Idol elimination results mean 6 Idols will be left after this week.  Heading into the April 18 American Idol elimination show we had Sanjaya Malakar suddenly the favorite to go home followed rather closely by Lakisha Jones.  Neither were big favorites to be eliminated heading into Tuesday night's show.

Coming into Tuesday we actually had Phil Stacey as the favorite to be eliminated from American Idol this week but he pulled a fast one by turning out a very good performance.  Stacey has appeared in the bottom three for the past few weeks.

Chris Richardson was also among the bottom three last week but his Virginia home gave him an edge in the country music theme week.

Neither of the updated favorites to be going home this week have appeared in among the bottom three recently.  Jones has never appeared among the bottom three.
