American Idol
performance update
for May 13, 2008 and
let me tell you
something folks, the
three remaining
Idols started off
fantastic.
David
Archuleta did Billy
Joel. Syesha
Mercado did Alicia
Keys. And
David
Cook....Roberta
Flack's "The First
Time Ever I Saw Your
Face"? Yeah,
you read that one
right.
All
were good. David
Cook was probably
the most original
though Randy Jackson
- who did not choose
the song (it was
Simon's choice) -
said he had wished
Simon didn't pick
such an old number.
I loved it!
This kid can sing
anything.
And
Syesha. Nobody
can compare to
Alicia Keys but
Syesha looked
gorgeous and sang it
well.
Archuleta has that
incredible voice
that makes this
girl's heart melt
even though I feel
like a friggin'
senior citizen
watching this kid.
Okay....but a Chris
Brown song?
That was David
Archuleta's second
choice. I have
one thing to say:
Where's Daddy
Dearest?
A
little
disappointing.
Simon called it a
chihuahua trying to
be a tiger. A
little bit awkward.
Syesha did "Fever".
Hot number and again
she looked
fantastic.
Randy thought she
sang it fantastic
but Paula thought it
was not the best
choice and Simon
felt she might
regret this decision
and called it "quite
a lame cabaret
performance".
David
Cook did Switchfoot.
Sounded great.
The judges felt it
was okay, nothing
spectacular. I
agree with Paula
though that it got
really good just as
it was over.
David
Archuleta was doing
"Longer" by Daniel
Fogelberg.
Syesha did a number
from a movie about
penguins and I've
never seen Paula so
critical...but she
does have a point.
I think it will be
David vs. David next
week.
David
Cook did Aerosmith,
which was the kiss
of death for Michael
Johns. Paula
loved it.
Randy didn't but
Simon said he won
the night.
Bet on American Idol
here
Finals odds up
Thursday.
