American Idol: Disco Night Disaster

It was Disco theme night this week on American Idol with each of the Idols performing two songs.  The first round was a no-brainer with Jordin Sparks beating out all others in the vocal department.

Melinda Doolittle was average while both Blake Lewis and Lakisha Jones were deemed close to awful by the three judges.  Yikes. 

With Round Two, Melinda performed much better, especially the second half of the song which judge Simon Cowell predicted would propel her into the semi-finals.

Blake failed to redeem himself though his originality might get him through to the next round with a little help from Lakisha's lackluster performance.  

Lakisha's follow up got a more enthusiastic response from the judges but like Simon said "Both You (Lakisha) and Blake are vulnerable tonight". 

Sparks actually didn't deliver with her second performance, so this could prove an interesting show in terms of voting.
