American Idol: Oddsmakers, Gamblers Anticipate Malakar Elimination

AddThis Social Bookmark Button Vocally challenged Idol Sanjaya Malakar's days appear to be numbered on American Idol, at least if oddsmakers and the gambling public have anything to say about it.

So far, elimination odds for American Idol got off to a strong start for gamblers last week who believed that Haley Scarnato would be the first person voted off.  Brandon Young ultimately got eliminated with a payout exceeding $3 for every $1 bet.

Last year, oddsmakers enjoyed an almost impeccable record with their American Idol predictions (based on which Idol had the shortest odds going into an elimination round).  This week, the oddsmakers have spoken and list Sanjaya Malakar as an even favorite to be booted off the show.  Scarnato had odds of +300, which would pay out $3 for every $1 bet if she were to be eliminated.  Phil Stacey also had +300 odds of being eliminated.

"Unfortunately we will be forced to hear him (Malakar) sing one last week," bellowed Gambling911.com Entertainment Reporter Payton O'Brien.

O'Brien - along with Sports911.com reporter, Tyrone Black - will be covering Tuesday night's American Idol elimination show in place of Carrie Stroup, who is on assignment this evening.
