Alabama Crimson Tide Fans Thrilled to be Part of Stroup 8-0 Run

When it comes to College Football and betting on it, perhaps no region is more hardcore than that of Alabama and all those wonderful Crimson Tide fans.  On Saturday, they were the underdogs and Gambling911.com handicapper extraordinaire Carrie Stroup gave them the go ahead to bet their home grown team.

The Crimson Tide beat Tennessee in classic fashion: A 41 to 7 romping.  Stroup made Alabama one of her four winning underdog picks for Saturday.  Carrie Stroup (this month's FHM Magazine babe) is 8-0 in her College Football free picks over the past three weeks.

The public outside of Alabama got hammered.  Tennessee was the biggest bet of the day with nearly 80% of the betting action heading into game time.

Here is what Carrie Stroup had to say about this game when making her play this morning:

"Alabama is an interesting situation because they were originally the -1 point favorite and now Tennessee U has been made the -1 point favorite with 79% of the action on Tennessee U.  When we look at the top 10 bets, Alabama does not show up.  Therefore we know that at this juncture in time, the bookies do have an opinion on Alabama, even though the favorite has changed.  It's still only a one point line we are talking about."

And for Alabama this was the biggest win of the season.

The Crimson Tide's 41-17 victory over Tennessee (No. 21 BCS, No. 20 AP) Saturday turned into a rollicking debut for coach Nick Saban in the intense border rivalry that had been dominated lately by the Volunteers.

Wilson passed for a career-high 363 yards and three touchdowns, Hall had a school-record 13 catches for 185 yards and the defense pitched a second-half shutout.

"This was the first time this year that we played a complete game," Saban said.

As a result, Alabama (6-2, 4-1 SEC) got its most lopsided win in the series since a 56-28 victory in 1986 after losing 10 of the last 12 meetings.

Alabama was one of four big winning picks from Stroup on Saturday.  The others were Pittsburgh, UCLA and Vanderbilt.
