Here are your 2008 Presidential candidates with the
shortest odds (i.e. the favorites to win based on
oddsmakers assessments):
Hillary Clinton Presidential Odds - On August 9,
2007, the former First Lady and current New York
State Senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton, enjoyed 2 to
1 odds of becoming the next US President. She
remained the favorite to win the 2008 US
Presidential Election, with odds just slightly
better than Rudy Giuliani 3 to 1. Hillary
Clinton's reception among Gambling911.com readers
and the Internet public in general has been average
to above average during the initial portions of the
campaign.
Barack
Obama enjoyed Presidential odds of 7 to 2 which
roughly would translate into a $350 payout for every
$100 bet. These odds are only a half a point
less than that of Republican candidate
Rudy Giuliani (3-1). Obama at one
point enjoyed slightly better odds, however, he has
remained steady throughout the past few months.
He still maintained a hefty lead over all Democrats
accept Senators Hillary Clinton and John Edwards
(who trailed only a bit)Al Gore also had short odds
though he has not officially made any declarations
to run.
Senator John McCain Just as the news
continues to unfold regarding turnover in John
McCain's campaign organization, his Presidential
odds have been negatively affected as well.
McCain still has better Presidential odds than all
but
Rudy Giuliani (3 to 1 odds) and yet to be
announced candidate Fred Thompson (4 to 1 odds).
Ron
Paul In a nutshell, popularity for 2008
Presidential candidate Ron Paul is massive. In
fact, articles on Dr. Paul featured at
Gambling911.com now rank among the most read.
Nearly 10,000 views were registered for Ron
Paul-related articles on a single day, August 8.
Gambling911.com pieces are frequently picked up by
dozens of websites across the Net that focus on Ron
Paul's campaign. With this type of popularity,
it should come as no surprise that Sportsbook.com would reduce Ron Paul's
odds from 200 to 1 to 8 to 1 in just a three month
period. Six months ago, Dr. Paul was not on
Sportsbook.com's Presidential Odds menu.
