2006 NFL Betting Odds: Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants

2006 NFL betting odds are now available with a pivotal Sunday night game featuring the Indianapolis Colts at the New York Giants.

At press time,  listed the New York Giants as a +3 dog hosting Indianapolis.  There is definitely some huge value here.

The Colts lost the team's career rushing leader, Edgerin James, to Arizona.  And while his replacements look formidable, there is only one Edgerin James.

Last year, The Colts impressed us with a new perfect season while the Giants shocked us by performing way better than anticipated early on in the season.  Comparing the two teams, however, it is interesting to point out that the Colts record from last year could be a little misleading.

Nine of the teams they played had losing records during the 2005 regular season.  That's more than half.  The Colts lost against three of the top teams: San Diego, Seattle and Pittsburgh.  They also won against a battered New England team.  That leaves us with only four games that really stood out as impressive wins: Two against Jacksonville, one against Pittsburgh and another against Cincinnati.

Signs point to Eli Manning as being a more consistent quarterback and a leader for his New York Giants.  If Eli can meet these expectations, there is little to stop the Giants from enjoying another successful season in 2006 and perhaps deep into the playoffs.  Defense, with the exception of the secondary, is solid.  Offense if top notch before factoring in Eli Manning.

But Eli should be motivated for this game against his big brother and aside from the two quarterbacks, on paper at least, the Giants look like the better team going into this one as the host.

+3 at  , that's some great value for Eli Manning and the Giants.

Bet it now at  and remember to tell them that Tyrone Black of Sports911.com sent you.

Incidentally, the Colts are listed at approximately 8 to 1 odds of winning the 2007 Super Bowl at press time August 6 while the Giants have odds of approximately 26 to 1.
