American Idol:
Pickler gets picked off but payoffs are sweet
It
seems one contestant had an entire phone bank voting
for her. Kellie Pickler's home town provided
much of her votes. Even they may have realized
the charade was up or else the folks from American
Idol decided to beat them at their own game, perhaps
the reason for offering up two phone lines per
contestant.
Well Kellie finally got hers...and deservingly so we
might add. She has been awful the past two
weeks.
Ryan Seacrest
announced that the show received the highest
non-finale vote total since American Idol began,
over 47 1/2 million people voted.
Voting controversies
have plagued American Idol in the past. One
contestant in a previous show had more votes come
from her native Hawaii than the island's entire
population.
Pickler's pick off was another man (or woman's)
pay off at online gambling web sites the likes
of
BetCRIS.com (See
Web Site Here) That site
listed Pickler with elimination odds of +800 prior
to Tuesday night's show, then reduced them to around
+200 Wednesday. The original bet would have
yielded $800 for every $100 wagered.
And the nonstop
growing popularity of American Idol hasn't been lost
on Gambling911.com, which once again suffered from a
massive volume shock that witnessed well over a
million hits during and immediately following the
airing of Wednesday night's American Idol.
Nearly 3500 people had viewed Jenny Woo and Payton
O'Brien's Wednesday Night Results Show Recap even
though for some it became nearly impossible to
access.
Betting on American Idol has become a national
phenomenon of epic proportions.
