Who will win
American Idol? The most searched for
contestant could hold answer

Taylor Hicks and
Katharine McPhee lead the pack in terms of search
queries, Paris Bennett trails
Search
has enveloped our lives these days. The most
searched for celebrities pretty much coincides with
their popularity, for example Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt,
Eva Longoria, just to name a few. These are
among the most searched for names on the internet.
Likewise, they are some of the most popular
celebrities around today.
With that said we also
have six remaining American Idol contestants.
And what Gambling911.com has determined is that some
are more popular than others in terms of overall
search traffic and links from fan-related web sites.
So assuming search
offers a strong indicator of an American Idol
wannabe's popularity, it might be possible to tell
which of these individuals is most likely to make it
all the way to the end.
We studied the past
five days and discovered the following:
The amount of web
sites and blogs pertaining to Katharine McPhee
linking into Gambling911.com far outweigh all other
candidates for the American Idol crown. This
tells us she has quite an enormous fan base.
In fact, one web site focused on McPhee -
www.katharinefans.com - is currently one of
Gambling911.com's biggest referrers.
Both Taylor Hicks
and Kellie Pickler are virtually tied in terms of
web sites sending traffic to Gambling911.com.
The American Idol
related blog traffic by itself has Pickler, Hicks
and McPhee in a virtual tie.
Hicks and McPhee by
far lead in terms of number of searches for
variations on the two names (this includes the
misspellings associated with Katharine's first
name). What
is most telling perhaps is that Chris Daughtry,
still the favorite to win, places well below these
other three individuals in terms of overall fan web
sites and the American Idol blogs themselves.
Elliott Yamin follows.
And poor Paris seems
to have very few people interested in her when
compared to the other five contenders.
What does this all
mean? In
terms of elimination this week, Paris Bennett pays
11 to 10 odds at
PlayersOnly.com (See
Web Site Here) meaning she
pays $11 for every $10 bet and that is approximately
+110 while Yamin pays 3 to 2 odds or $150 for every
$100 bet.
Either one, but
especially Paris Bennett, stands a very strong
chance of being eliminated this week based on lack
of fan interest.
If both these
individuals really come out swinging this week (the
way Yamin apparently did this past week considering
it is believed he received the second or no less
than the third largest number of votes), Chris
Daughtry could be next in line. He appeared
among the bottom three last week. Daughtry,
based on our traffic observations, does not appear
to have as solid an entrenched fan base as either
Taylor Hicks or Katharine McPhee or even Kellie
Pickler for that matter. Daughtry would pay a
substantial 10 to 1 odds or $10 for every $1 bet
should he be voted off this week (or $1000 for every
$100 bet). In
terms of who might ultimately win based on fan
sentiment, we have Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee
in a virtual lock. Current odds have these two
both at 5 to 2 odds of winning.
With that said
there is a great betting option currently being
offered at
BetCRIS.com (See
Web Site Here) which allows
you to bet on the final two Idols contestants left
standing. Note: Katharine McPhee and Taylor
Hicks are +475 to be the final two remaining Idols.
This one pays out $475 for every $100 bet and may
very well be the best value out there right now
considering our own observations of traffic
interest.
