American Idol:
Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, Katharine McPhee all
favored to win
 The
latest odds were released for American Idol's six
remaining contestants with a surprising twist; three
are listed as the favorites, though they still each
pay out 2 to 1 odds.

posted its updated odds following Wednesday night's
elimination show.
That's a tight battle
whereas Chris Daughtry had been paying out even
money prior to the Wednesday April 19 elimination
show. One has
to wonder if performing first might mean fewer
viewer exposure as Chris Daughtry ended up for the
first time in the bottom three and was without a
doubt among the top performers.
Ace Young ultimately
received his walking papers. When odds were
first released, the online gambling web sites
initially listed him a favorite.
Paris Bennett, another
to find herself among the bottom three, is now
listed with odds of +2000 (or $2000 is paid out for
every $100 bet).
Elliott Yamin made the
top half, despite what judge Simon Cowell called a
"lack of personality". He too is listed with
odds of +2000.
Shockingly, Kellie
Pickler managed to make the top cut despite a
butchered performance (which she even admitted was
terrible). Pickler, who seems invincible at
this point, may have great value at +609 (paying
$609 for every $100 bet).
The American Idol
betting phenomenon is out of control. Gambling
web sites not offering odds on this show are missing
out in a big way. Gambling911.com was the

phenomenon.

web site received so much traffic at one point
towards the end of our LIVE "Ladies of
Gambling911.com American Idol Forum Discussion" that
the main traffic pipeline leading to the site had
maxed out. Some 50,000 plus hits were recorded
in a matter of minutes.
An unheard of 4000
forum thread views were recorded in a matter of two
hours, this despite a large chunk of the population
unable to access.

technicians are scrambling to install a second
pipeline.
